CLB Solicitors go behind the scenes with Listening Ear

After their Three Peaks Challenge exploits earlier this year, some of our solicitors visited Listening Ear’s office to find out more about the Social Enterprise.

On Thursday 21st November our Solicitors Ruth Allanson and Joanne Rowe, along with our Social Media Editor Wendy Brown, visited the offices of Listening Ear. Our three ladies went along to find out more about the work that Listening Ear does for people aged 6 and up across the North West.

Joanne and Ruth were also keen to find out how the £2689.93 they raised as half of our four person Three Peaks Challenge team in September is being spent by Listening Ear to provide counselling and support services. As Ruth and Jo discovered, these services are provided by Listening Ear to young people, those suffering from work-related mental health issues, children coping with the trauma of local authority intervention in their families and people coming to terms with bereavement.

After the visit, Joanne commented: “I was very moved by what I saw when I visited Listening Ear. It was very hard for me as an adult to hear what some of the children there had had to deal with in their lives.

It was however great to see the amazing work that the Listening Ear team are doing. Whilst there, we heard how the money we raised will enable the team to extend the services they offer the Wirral, in addition to Liverpool, so that even more children will benefit from the counselling and support they offer.”

Canter Levin & Berg’s visit to Listening Ear took place as part of a wider stakeholder open day which also saw dignitaries such as the Lord Lieutenant and the High Sheriff of Merseyside attending, alongside a number of other fundraisers.
