Across the UK, thousands of children face the prospect of a Christmas morning with no presents this year, because their families live in poverty. Alongside local station Radio City, we are supporting the Mission Christmas campaign, to encourage people to donate just 1 extra present so that some of the most disadvantaged children in society have a brighter Christmas morning.
The Mission Christmas campaign, fronted by DJ Simon ‘Rossie’ Ross and run in conjunction with the charity Cash for Kids has been running for several years and we are proud once again to lend our support. What’s more here at Canter Levin & Berg we are again opening our offices for use as a drop-off point for anyone wishing to donate a present in the run up to Christmas.
If you’d like to donate your present to the appeal, simply bring it along, unwrapped to our Liverpool city centre offices - 24 Dale Street and ask for Hayley Roberts or Karen Young. Alternatively, if you live in the Kirkby area, you can leave your donated presents at our offices in 18 Newtown Gardens. We’ll be taking all the donated presents from both offices along to the Radio City tower in Liverpool City Centre just before Christmas day.
We’re particularly keen to accept presents suitable for older children and teenagers, who can often be overlooked at this time of year. Also, as the families receiving the gifts might not be able to afford to replace batteries, we’d like to request that toys and gifts which require batteries aren’t donated.
If you’d like to take part but you can’t get down to our offices, then you can donate to the appeal online, over the phone or by cheque. Find out more about donating and about the 2013 campaign on the Radio City Mission Christmas website.
Millions of children in poverty will wake up to a Christmas without presents. That’s why Radio City's Cash for Kids, Liverpool City Central and Commercial District BID are once again running the Mission Christmas campaign.
The idea behind Mission Christmas is a simple one - buy just one extra present this year – a gift that can be given to a disadvantaged local child to make their Christmas morning that little bit brighter. Presents should be suitable for children and young people aged 0 to 18 years, and you can donate your new and unwrapped gift at one of our drop-off points.
Cash for Kids is Bauer Radio’s network of local charities, operating in 21 areas around the UK. Each local Cash for Kids charity is established to channel the caring of the local community into the welfare of their own youngsters. Every year Cash for Kids raises thousands of pounds for local children and young people who are suffering from abuse or neglect, who are disabled and have special needs or who simply need extra care or guidance.
The charity participates in a huge variety of fundraising events both on & off air and by encouraging individuals, groups, schools and companies to jump on board, join the fun and offer a helping hand to disadvantaged children in their community.
With cash raised locally each charity guarantees that the generous donations made by listeners will go towards bringing hope, healing and happiness to children in their community. All the money raised on behalf of Cash for Kids stays in the area it was raised in providing a helping hand when and where it is needed most.
