Commercial / Dispute Resolution Solicitor

The Commercial department at Canter Levin & Berg Solicitors is expanding at a rapid pace and we are seeking an ambitious solicitor * with 1-3 years PQE, with a strong work ethic and an outstanding business acumen to join our team.

The successful candidate will have conduct of a diverse caseload of commercial instructions. Matters will be both contentious and non-contentious and will vary from commercial litigation, professional negligence, dispute resolution, intellectual property and the drafting of commercial contracts. The client base is made up of SMEs, international companies, professionals and high net worth individuals

Essential Criteria
  • 0-3 years PQE;
  • Extensive litigation experience;
  • Strong business acumen;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Exceptional communication skills.

Desirable Criteria
  • A client following;
  • Experience with conducting file reviews;
  • Experience with a case management system such as Proclaim.

Family Solicitor - Child Panel Member

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who will share knowledge but be able to work independently when required. Support will be provided, although an ability to self generate work is an advantage. In return, they will join a Lexcel and IIP accredited firm and will receive a competitive salary, with benefits and good working hours.

Essential Criteria

  • Competence and experience Public and Private Law Children matters;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Good and effective communicator;
  • Flexible and driven with the ability to work as part of a team and to support and assist others where needed;
  • Able to work on own initiative;
  •  Able to prioritise workload, good team working required and good timekeeping;
  • Able to work under pressure.

Desirable Criteria

  • Child Panel Membership with a client following;
  • 3+ PQE although all applicants that meet the essential criteria will be considered;
  • Experience with Public and Private funded work;
  • Competence and experience in other areas of family law;
  • Competence in conducting own advocacy including contested hearings
  • Knowledge of and ability to use CCMS

Employment Solicitor

The Employment Department at Canter Levin & Berg Solicitors is expanding and we are seeking an ambitious solicitor with 0-2 years PQE in both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, a strong work ethic and excellent academic credentials.
 

We are confident that the successful candidate will not only build a career with us but also be provided with an opportunity to forge a personal reputation as an exceptional employment solicitor.
 

The successful candidate will have conduct of a diverse caseload comprising both claimant and respondent work in addition to a portfolio of regular clients holding subscriptions for employment law advice. Matters will be both contentious and non-contentious and will vary from employment tribunals to advising employers and professionals on employment law, including issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, dismissals, redundancies, discrimination, TUPE Regulations and restrictive covenants. The role will also include drafting varied employment law documentation such as contracts of employment, employee handbooks and service agreements.
 

Essential Criteria
 

  • 0-2 years PQE;
  • Contentious / non-contentious employment experience;
  • Passion for Employment law;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with people at all levels and ability to build rapport
  • Time management and planning skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Positive attitude and initiative
